Festivids is seeking new mods!

Dear Festividders,

While odessie and I have both had a fantastic time running Festivids for the last few years - in large part thanks to all you lovely folks - we’ve each decided that the time has come for us to step down.

This means that Festivids is looking for new moderators! This could be you if:

* You’re familiar with the Festivids community and culture, whether as a participant, a cheerleader or a watcher. Being a vidder yourself is by no means required!

* You’re comfortable running an exchange on the AO3 or you’re happy to learn how it all works.

* You have the time available during the exchange period - the Festivids calendar runs from October to January with some admin required in the lead-up and after the exchange has ended. The busiest times are during nominations/signups in October, and in the run-up to golive in January.

The types of tasks involved include: setting the dates of the exchange; checking fandom eligibility; matching with the help of the AO3’s tool; sending out assignments; arranging pinch hits, keeping everyone up to date via social media, monitoring the inbox for issues and addressing them when they arise, chasing late submissions, checking submitted vids have been posted correctly.

(While the busy times can be intense, for the sake of balance it’s worth mentioning that it’s super fun to get to be the person who pushes the button to release the vids!)

Ideally there would be multiple moderators, so this work would not all fall to one person. I’ll also be available to answer questions and provide support during this handover year.
